As a new blogger and frequent contributor to the Find&Save blog, I was excited to attend the BlogHer 2014 Conference in San Jose California at the end of July. Not only was I going to learn some tips and tricks of the trade, but also I would be able to highlight Find&Save and all it can do.
Celebrating its 10th year, BlogHer is one of the largest conferences in the United States where beginning and well-seasoned female bloggers gather to share, mentor each other, and attend breakout sessions.
This year’s keynote speakers ranged from actor Kerry Washington from the TV show Scandal to Arianna Huffington of The Huffington Post as well as Jenny Lawson from thebloggess.com and author of Let’s Pretend This Never Happened.
Held in a different city every year, the conference has grown exponentially in the last 10 years as women (and men) have turned their passion for hobbies, causes, products and more into web sites for millions of users to read. Many of the bloggers who started their blogs as a hobby have turned them into full time business.
Blogs let viewers connect with others on issues that concern them, read about places that they would like to travel to, find solutions to problems and read about products and recipes that appeal to them.
Because many of these blogs get hundreds of thousands of views, companies of like Wanderful Media, producers of Find&Save, Skype, Johnson & Johnson, WordPress, Samsung, to name a few have sat up and taken notice that the bloggers are the perfect conduit to get their product or message out and many of them attend BlogHer conferences.
The Blogher conference is the perfect vehicle for companies to meet and connect with those that have a powerful voice in showcasing their product to a new vast audience of users.
